Leadership development is still at the top of the list. With the shift from generation to generation new leaders will need to motivate, engage and inspire top performance. And the focus is on getting these leaders ready now.
Mobile is still killing it. From recruiting to performance reviews to just about everything HR, mobile is king. And companies are scrambling to adapt their HR systems. We will continue to see the larger information systems companies create mobile versions of their HR applications. But we will also see individual companies create their own applications.
3) Hiring Top Talent
Hiring individuals is not the same as it was 10 years ago. We are seeing more transient workers and more project based workers. And recruiting top talent continues to see a mobile influence. Roughly 3 out of 4 job seekers apply for and research companies on mobile devices.
Analytics have to be focused on business objectives. We will see HR focus on analytics that are strategic to the overall business goals.
5) Performance Improvement Plans
PIP needs to be real time with the ability to quickly adapt and improve to keep up with the pace of technology. And the new technology behind the performance evaluation is crucial to drive employee engagement.
6) Benefits are Changing.
Retaining top talent has to be more than compensation. Corporate culture including ability to find meaningful work, flexibility in the workplace and more is still at the top. And the recent trend of the ‘sandwiched’ generation shows the importance of Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) for taking care of aging parents.
7) Training is cloud based and mobile based.
We are still seeing an influx of new training companies and new training platforms. But how do you keep your workforce trained? Many companies are going to online professional courses. But the hardest part is the integration of all of the training to one platform. We will continue to see this need and see how the small, mid size and large companies adjust.
