1. Talent Acquisition - HR professionals told us that hiring top talent is their number one challenge. With an increase in the need for certain skill sets, there is a smaller pool of talent (and more companies are fighting for the same talent). Companies are needing to spend more time and money bringing the right talent.
2. Terminations - In a sue happy nation, terminations have become more and more litigious. HR is responsible for making sure all compliance is met and all steps are taken in any terminations.
3. Benefits - HR is responsible for managing compensation, benefits, and perks. With the constant change in the insurance market, the increase in the cost of benefits and the need to compete for talent, it is often a tough scale to balance.
4. Compensation - While similar to the above, compensation is not just internal. People surveyed stated that balancing the internal compensation structure to the outside world has become increasingly more important (and I'm sure applications like GlassDoor make it even more difficult).
